BCC 1 drama Anthony arrives in New Zealand on October 26 only on Acorn TV

FILM

“It’s one of the most inventively soul-shattering films of the year, TV and otherwise”- Culture Whisper

On 29 July 2005 in Huyton, Merseyside, Anthony Walker was murdered in a vicious racist attack. He was just 18 years old.

A basketball lover, a brother, a devout Christian, a son and a friend, Anthony was just a regular Liverpool teenager with dreams of working in civil rights and a lifetime of potential ahead of him.

Produced for BBC One by LA Productions and exclusively premiering in New Zealand this October 26, 2020 on Acorn TV, Anthony (1×90′) is the story of the life he should have lived.

Skilfully plotted by one of UK’s most powerful screenwriters Jimmy McGovern (Hillsborough, The Street, Cracker), this heartbreaking and moving drama chronicles an imagined life in reverse, giving hope and optimism to a future that was so brutally taken away.

Using unconventional storytelling and reverse chronology, the film begins with a 25-year-old Anthony married to his high school sweetheart and follows seven years of imagined experiences, disappointments and triumphs leading viewers to the night of this horrific crime.

“BBC Anthony writer Jimmy McGovern reduces nation to tears after ‘perfect and powerful’ drama” – Liverpool Echo

Arriving on screens across Aotearoa at a prescient time, the film was created at the request of and in partnership with Gee Walker, Anthony’s mother, a close friend of McGovern’s who has acted as the writer’s grief consultant for several years following her loss.

Masterfully crafted it infuses intense joy into the milestones of Anthony’s life while avoiding the temptation to make him a martyr, instead using all of the precious 90 minutes to paint a picture of a life that could have blossomed – trials, tribulations and all.

Embracing the rawness of the human experience, it shows a young man with strong work ethic and wholesome family values whilst also portraying Anthony’s ability to cause hurt to the people in his life with his naivety and strong will.

Anthony strikes an affecting balance of heartbreak and hope so much so that it becomes hard not to feel a part of the Walker family’s grief, creating an urgency in the viewer to hold those dearest to them close.

“A visceral scene of what it means to be a parent…both illuminating and devastating” – The High Low

Staged in the realm of imagination and grounded in the harshness of reality Anthony has been praised for its outstanding ability to move viewers with each moment more touching than the last.

Anthony arrives in New Zealand on October 26, 2020, only on Acorn TV.

“Every scene of happiness hollows out your heart a little more – it is an incredibly evocative replication of the grief bereavement brings.” – The Guardian

Starring: Toheeb Jimoh (The Feed, Ted Lasso) Rakie Ayola (Shetland) Julia Brown (World on Fire) Bobby Schofield (Knightfall)
Writer: Jimmy McGovern (Cracker, The Street)
Director: Terry McDonough (Better Call Saul)
Producers: Colin McKeown (Broken, Care, Reg) and Donna Molloy (Broken, Care, Reg)

Further praise for Anthony:

“Vital viewing” – Stylist

“Anthony on BBC One merged fact and fiction to create a powerful story about loss” – Digital Spy

“Generated an outpouring of emotion on social media” – Radio Times

“It is a must-see. You can’t look away”- Bleeding Cool

“Anthony is unique TV, more a dream than a drama”- GQ

“He manages to balance bleak tragedy and pockets of humour with beautiful delicacy”- Culture Whisper

New TIDD Crane Dealer for Tidd Ross Todd (TRT)

MANUFACTURING

Tidd Ross Todd Limited (TRT) has appointed Ronco Group PTY Ltd (Ronco) as the new TIDD Crane dealer for Western Australia. Effective from 22 October 2020, Ronco will stock and sell the TIDD PC28 Crane, manage service and stock and supply genuine parts to a growing customer base.

This dealer appointment replaces the previous dealer arrangement with WATM. TRT will support South Australia with experienced local service agents, RMB Service Group, maintaining TIDD Crane’s Australia wide support network.

“We are pleased to be working with Robert Smith and the team at Ronco.” says Bruce Carden, TRT’s director of sales and innovation. “This is a strategic decision to enable the continued growth of the TIDD Crane in WA, especially within the Mining and Infrastructure sectors, with a company that has experience with Pick and Carry Cranes, extensive industry knowledge unique to WA and a high standard of after sales support and service. Ronco’s values align closely to TRT’s and we are looking forward to working closely together.”

Robert Smith, managing director of Ronco agrees, “Ronco has been a rebuild and service centre for pick and carry cranes for many years, including designing and building our own bespoke Pick and Carry. But we have never had a quality Pick and Carry Crane in this class to offer. So, to partner TRT with the Tidd product is a great opportunity. We already have an extensive range of cranes and the TIDD just finishes the line up with outstanding quality, safety and commitment by the TRT team.

Bruce adds, “As an OEM manufacturer, we want to ensure that TIDD Crane customers are supported and that they can still retain a relationship with TRT, the Crane OEM. Ronco are that collaborative and committed partner that we know will deliver on this promise.”

Based in Perth, Ronco support the Construction and Mining sectors with crane and equipment sales, service, repairs and parts. They have 12 factory trained crane technicians to support customers. Robert adds “The commitment of TRT to their customers and product support is unmatched. TRT are investing in sending a technician for a number of weeks, including quarantine, for hands on training where all other OEM’s are conducting video training through COVID.”

TRT launched the first TIDD Crane in 2014 with the TIDD PC25. After extensive industry and expert consultation, TRT launched the TIDD PC28 in May 2019. TRT are now one of the only crane manufacturers left in Australasia and the only road vehicle manufacturer in New Zealand.

What is CRO?

BUSINESS

CRO stands for Conversion Rate Optimisation. It involves website analysis and various forms of testing. For the purpose of converting website visits/views into actions, such as a sale, signing up to a newsletter or downloading their app. Making the people who visit your site actually do something you want them to while they are there, rather than look and leave.
The goal is to find what works for each company or site, and their customers, to encourage viewers to complete a purchase/action after they view. So we will look at what their customers are like, what they want, and what will motivate them to complete that action.
It might be something like changing the call to action. There could be an issue with website usability which is preventing people going down the sales/conversion funnel. It could be that the design is not appealing to the market they are trying to attract, so there needs to be design and graphic work done. There are so many strategies that can be implemented, but the goal is to find the right ones, that will have the most effect for each specific company and their target market.
You can run a variety of tests to determine weaknesses in the site, and suggest improvements. As well as to determine which online sales strategies will work best for the target market and type of product. It is mostly a tool for increasing online sales, however improving CRO on a site can help with in store sales as well. If potential customers are going to the site to find information and prices, and find what they are looking for, they are more likely to buy.
It is also useful for sites wanting more customer interaction or increased popularity, and for better customer experiences. Your brand image is also protected through CRO. Because it assesses customer experiences on your site as well. This is done so that they have a better experience, and are not put off from returning to your site by something small like slow loading pages, hard to navigate menu’s or broken links. As much as you are trying to draw customers into a sale, you are also trying to make sure they are not drawn away/put off from your site before they get to the point of deciding to make a purchase.

What is NZ Partner Visa

BUSINESS

A partner visa is a visa that allows the partner or spouse of a New Zealand resident or citizen to visit, move to, and live in New Zealand.

Immigration New Zealand uses different qualification criteria for partnership-based visas grounded on the resident or temporary visa classification. Depending on your circumstances, you may have several visa alternatives.

If you have met a partner while in New Zealand and want to remain in the country with them, or if you want to migrate to New Zealand with your partner from another country who has a visa, you may be able to do so by applying to Immigration New Zealand. Even if you are not yet wed to your partner, the New Zealand de facto partner visa may still be suitable.

If you have any more questions or require clarification on any area of the partnership-based visa application, get in touch with the team at Malcolm Pacific for expert assistance.
