Reality series Motorway Patrol celebrates 20 years with this ‘greatest hits’ package of memorable roadside moments spanning from 1999 to 2019. The format is simple — a camera crew tags along with Auckland police patrolling the city’s motorways. Stressful situations abound, from a touch-and-go helicopter rescue in foggy weather to onslaughts of colourful abuse from intoxicated motorists. Some encounters highlight the physical dangers of policing while others capture the diverse side of the job, including a lost elderly man, saving puppies and being first on the scene to a roadside birth.
